'Board Games at Home' offers home visits with a difference - board games are the perfect pass time to provide company, chat and nostalgia. I will visit at home with a small selection of board games to suit interests, ability and mood. We can choose an old favourite or I can teach you a modern classic.
A lovely way to keep your brain active too.
While I'm there I'll happily stick the kettle on and make us a brew, put the bins out and help with other small tasks or contact the appropriate agencies who can help with any other issues that arise.
My parents both had dementia and were very reluctant to go into a care home setting, preferring to stay at home. I know how much staying at home means but I also know that it can be isolating. I aim to offer low key support and company as well as a distraction or escape through board games.
I have an enhanced DBS check, and have completed Dementia Awareness Training, Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding, Autism Training and Lone Worker personal safety training through Leeds City Council. As well as Teen Life - an autism course run by National Autistic Society.
